Chimney Scaffolding

Specialist birdcage and independent scaffold towers providing full safe access to chimney stacks. Chimney stacks are one of the most exposed and vulnerable parts of any building — and one of the most awkward to access safely. Whether your chimney needs repointing, capping, flashing replacement, or full demolition, Youngs Scaffolding provides specialist chimney scaffolding throughout South East England. We provide two main types of chimney scaffold, depending on the work required: Independent chimney tower scaffolding is a free standing scaffold structure erected around and above the chimney stack, providing a full working platform and handrail on all four sides. This is suitable for larger chimney stacks and more extensive works. Birdcage scaffolding provides a working platform at roof level, with a birdcage structure above giving the scaffold gang and your bricklayer or roofer safe access to work on all elevations of the stack. We also provide general roof level access to the chimney if your roofer simply needs to get to the base of the stack for flashing works. Chimney scaffolding is a specialist area — the scaffold must be tied or weighted correctly, and the working platform must be tight enough to the stack to allow mortar work without gaps. Our experienced team has erected chimney scaffolds on everything from Victorian terraces in Chelmsford to large country houses across East Anglia. We provide a free site visit and quotation for all chimney scaffold enquiries. We can liaise directly with your roofer or chimney specialist. Homeowners, roofers, and chimney repair specialists needing safe access to chimney stacks. Chimney scaffolding is erected by experienced CISRS qualified scaffolders. All chimney tower scaffolds are weighted, tied, or anchored appropriately to prevent overturning. Working platforms are inspected before use and after adverse weather. We do not leave unsecured scaffolding adjacent to chimney stacks.
